NAWIC Founding

The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) was founded in 1955 in Fort Worth, Texas. The association has grown over the years from 16 founding members to approximately 7,000 members in 238 chapters. Our National Office is still located in Fort Worth, Texas.

Mission Statement

NAWIC is an international association of women employed in the construction industry which promotes that industry and supports the advancement of women within it.

Believe in ourselves as Women. Persevere in the strength of our convictions. Dare to move into new horizons and to enhance the success of women in the construction industry.

Raleigh Chapter of NAWIC

The Raleigh Chapter 92 was chartered in June, 1964. The Raleigh Chapter is a member of NAWIC Region 11, which encompasses the states of Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina.

General Membership Meetings

Meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month at the University Club on Hillsborough Street in Raleigh. A social hour begins at 5:30 p.m., dinner at 6:15 p.m. followed by a program and business meeting. Programs are oriented toward the construction industry.
